The Ottoline began as a richly woven tapestry garment, alive with curling vines, scattered blooms and flashes of jewel toned color against a deep black ground. Reimagined by hand, she became something more ornate, eccentric and wonderfully untamed.
Leopard print trim runs along the neckline and down the front, bringing an unexpected wildness to the tapestry beneath. Black fringe sweeps along the outer edges, bordered in intricate gold and sage green trim. At the shoulders, broken vintage clip on earrings have been given a second life as embellishments, their opalescent blue green glass stones and pale green faceted rhinestones catching the light against the dark tapestry. Four hook and eye closures run along the front, allowing Ottoline to be worn open or fastened.
At the back, the tapestry opens into an elaborate garden of curling golden vines, oversized leaves and scattered blooms in coral, blue, green and violet. The entire scene is framed in ornate sage green and gold trim layered with draped beadwork and large faceted olive toned drops, creating a jeweled border around the tapestry. Black fringe falls beneath it, while an oversized antique gold button anchors the deep V at the center.
Made from an existing garment and thoughtfully transformed by hand, Ottoline feels like an old-world tapestry allowed to escape its frame and become something wild enough to wear.
