The Palomino began as a rich chocolate brown vintage jacket, its tailored lapels and original gold contrast stitching left intact as part of the original garment. Reimagined by hand, the shoulders are traced in soft blue and gold trim before falling into a sweep of long golden fringe.
The front is kept intentionally understated, allowing the original tailoring and warm gold stitching to remain visible. At each point, ornate gold toned embellishments with pearl detailing anchor gathered remnants of lace and mixed textiles in cream, pale blue, gold and earthy brown. Left intentionally raw and irregular, they bring softness and movement to the structured jacket without taking away from its simplicity.
The back reveals Palomino’s most intricate detail. Rows of creamy pearl like beads and elongated teardrop beads are layered beneath the blue and gold trim, creating a delicate curtain above the golden fringe. A pressed metal gold toned button sits at the center of the V, anchoring the entire arrangement.
Made from an existing garment and thoughtfully transformed by hand, Palomino balances the familiarity of a worn western jacket with something softer, more ornate and entirely its own.
