The Zafira

Gilded threads, wandering florals.

The Zafira began as a richly patterned vintage garment, its deep navy ground layered with intricate florals, geometric borders and touches of magenta, blue and gold. Reimagined by hand, the original textile does much of the storytelling, with each added element chosen to follow rather than overwhelm its elaborate pattern.

A pale blue and gold decorative trim traces the sweeping edges before giving way to long antique gold fringe. Original style textured gold tone buttons run down the front, while a pair of jeweled adornments sit at the lower points. These pieces were salvaged from existing jewelry and repurposed as garment embellishments, giving something once worn in one form an entirely new life.

At the back, the floral pattern opens into a broad field of delicate gold vines and blossoms before meeting a more ornate border below. The fringe falls into a deep V, finished with another repurposed jeweled jewelry element at its point, creating a small flash of light against the gold and navy.

Made from an existing garment and thoughtfully transformed by hand, Zafira celebrates the idea at the heart of the collection: beautiful things do not have to begin again to become something new.
