The Calista

Gilded After Dark

The Calista began as a classic black blazer, its clean tailoring reimagined by hand with sweeping lines of ochre gold fringe and richly patterned gold, mauve, and olive trim. The simplicity of the original garment remains at its center, allowing the added texture and movement to completely transform its silhouette.

Long golden fringe falls from the shoulders into a deep point at the front, bordered by ornate black, gold, olive and mauve woven trim. At either side, polished stone statement buttons anchor trailing remnants of black lace and golden fringe, bringing an earthy, collected quality to the otherwise dramatic palette.

At the back, the fringe and woven trim sweep into a deep V across the uninterrupted black tailoring. An ornate gold metal button with raised detailing anchors the center, giving way to long remnants of black floral lace and loose strands of golden fringe that trail down the back.

Made from an existing garment and thoughtfully transformed by hand, Calista pairs the restraint of classic black tailoring with the movement and ornament of something made for dancing after dark.
