The Matadora

Bold, romantic and made with a little drama.

The Matadora began as a vintage red blazer, transformed by hand into a one of one statement piece inspired by the movement and ornamentation of traditional matador dress.

The original tailored lapels remain at the center, surrounded by layers of rich chocolate and rust twisted fringe. A band of hand ruffled dark crochet lace sweeps along the front, creating softness against the structure of the blazer, while small red button details punctuate the lower shoulders.

The fringe continues across the back in a dramatic curved line, giving Matadora movement from every angle. Vintage inspired buttons finish the front, bringing together deep red, chocolate brown and aged brass tones.

Strong tailoring meets unruly fringe. A piece made for dancing, wandering and taking up a little more space than necessary.

Created from an existing garment and transformed by hand, no two Howdy Sh’awl pieces will ever be exactly alike.
